Burundi Turihamwe

Tasting Notes: light and silky with notes of vanilla and cherry

We're excited to bring a new washed Burundi coffee to Bird and Bear coffee drinkers! Light and fruity, this east African coffee is similar to our Rwanda Murundo coffee. 

Our partner JNP Coffee searches the far corners of Burundi to identify new and diverse specialty coffees, and we find them. They played a special role in the development of the Turihamwe coffee.  After working with the women of the community for several years they pooled their money to build a wet mill, and continue to create new opportunities for themselves.  They named their project "Turihamwe" because it means together, and demonstrates the spirit of cooperation in their efforts.
